One of Tompkins’ own, Mike Kerr, has been called into active duty and is currently serving in Iraq. He is the branch manager of our California facility and is a member of the Army Reserves.
Mike has a wife and three small children who remain in California, awaiting his return. We are very proud of Mike and support him as he serves our country overseas. While Mike is gone, Ed will be the acting branch manager for our California location.
Tompkins Sponsors Zach Goulden
Tompkins is proud to sponsor Zach Goulden, 305 Sprint Car racer. He is a recipient of the Fox 4 “Reaching for Excellence” award. He holds a first degree black belt in karate and gives much of his own time to serving others in his community.
Zach told Fox 4 News:
"It's the biggest adrenaline rush you can ever get," says Zach of hurtling down dirt and asphalt tracks. "You are going 100 plus miles an hour. You have 24 or 30 other cars on the race track with you. Sometimes, someone can spin right in front of you and you have a split second decision. Are you going to go high or are you going to go low? You hope you make the right decision."
Zach recently graduated from Oak Park High School in Kansas City. His ultimate goal is to get to the NASCAR circuit to race alongside his idols like Jeff Gordon, Casey Khane and Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
